NMERC 2026 Help and FAQ

Every abstract is scored against a published rubric and reviewed before a decision is issued. The four axes are originality, method, clarity of results and relevance, and the rubric is published in full.

That depends on the room. An oral slot in the lecture hall is competitive and selected on score, because the number of slots is limited. A poster is accepted if it meets the standard rather than by beating other submissions.

You state a preference when you submit. Oral slots are limited and selected on score, so a preference is not a guarantee.

You get feedback on where it fell short, so you know whether the problem was the method, the write-up or the fit. If there is time before the deadline you can rework it and submit again.

Yes. Every accepted oral presentation and poster is listed in the NMERC 2026 abstract book, with its title and authors. It is issued with your certificate and letter by 16 November 2026, 16:00. Recruitment guidance says a national meeting must have a document listing its abstracts, and that a claim without one may be downgraded or not accepted, so keep the abstract book with your letter as evidence.

Each abstract has one named presenter, and the presentation certificate (which shows the abstract title) is issued in that person’s name only. Co-presenting isn’t possible, but co-authors are credited in the abstract book. Every co-author who registers and attends on 14 November gets their own certificate of attendance (6 CPD hours), and co-authors can also submit an abstract of their own.

Once it has happened, yes. Recruitment guidance is explicit that an achievement gained after the closing date cannot be counted and that a presentation not yet given must not be claimed — which is exactly why the conference sits in November.
