What exactly do I need to send?
A title, the abstract, your authors with the presenting author named, and a track preference.

Doctors in training — foundation doctors and core or specialty trainees. There is no membership requirement.

How is my abstract assessed?
Every abstract is scored against a published rubric and reviewed before a decision is issued. The four axes are originality, method, clarity of results and relevance, and the rubric is published in full.
The four axes →How competitive is it?
That depends on the room. An oral slot in the lecture hall is competitive and selected on score, because the number of slots is limited. A poster is accepted if it meets the standard rather than by beating other submissions.
Oral or poster →How are presentations scored on an application?
That depends on your specialty and is set by the recruitment office, not by us. Nothing here guarantees a score: oral slots are competitive and poster acceptance depends on meeting the published standard.

What is Gather Town like to use?
It runs in your browser with no download. You move a character around a drawn building with the arrow keys, and conversation starts when you walk up to someone. Erudical already runs its live teaching day this way.
What the venue is like →Do I have to be at my poster all day?
No. You must be at your board, on camera, for 11:00 to 12:00 and 14:30 to 15:30. Outside those windows the hall stays open and your board stays up, but you are free to be anywhere.

Tell us before the day. Both windows are compulsory because the certificate rests on having presented, so we would rather resolve it in advance than withhold a certificate afterwards.

What it costs, and what you leave with.
What does it cost to attend?
£149 for the full day: both rooms, the breakout sessions, the closing prizes and your certificate. The day is CPD accredited by CPD England for 6 hours.
What the fee includes →Is it free if I have done the Erudical course?
Yes. Erudical alumni attend at no charge, from any cohort, including one you have already sat.

A medical education course for doctors in training: a full live day in Gather Town, over twelve hours of self-paced content, CPD accredited, and your conference place included.

No. They carry different wording, because the two rooms are different things — one is selected on score, the other accepted against a standard.

A confirmatory letter and your certificate will be issued by 16 November 2026 at 16:00.

Once it has happened, yes. Recruitment guidance is explicit that an achievement gained after the closing date cannot be counted and that a presentation not yet given must not be claimed — which is exactly why the conference sits in November.
