What £199 buys, and whether it is the right thing for your application.
What do I get for £199?
Twenty self-paced modules with six weeks of access, a full live online day running 09:00 to 17:00, and your place at NMERC 2026, which is £149 on its own. Up to 24 CPD hours in total: 12 for the self-paced modules, 6 for the live day and 6 for the conference.
Is the self-paced course enough, or do I need the live day?
The content is the same in both — it is simply presented differently. They are two separate courses with two separate certificates, so you complete the one you want the certificate for, or both if you want both. Both are included in the £199, so you are not choosing at checkout.
Which one you need depends on the application. IMT asks for six hours of live, synchronous training, so the live day is the route to that point; the self-paced course is strong portfolio and ARCP evidence but will not, on its own, meet a requirement for live teaching. Does it count for my specialty, and for how many points?
It depends on the pathway. Training in teaching scores at CT1, ST1, ST3 and ST4 for many specialties, but some award nothing at all for a teach the teacher course — General Practice, Core Psychiatry, Paediatrics and several surgical pathways among them. What it scores is set by the recruitment office rather than by us.

How do I choose my live course date?
From the dropdown at checkout. Your self-paced access starts straight away, whichever live date you pick.
I trained outside the UK. Can I take the course?
Yes. Everything is online and you can attend from anywhere in the world. What the certificate scores depends on the application you are making, so check your own person specification first.
Your live course day
09:00 to 17:00, in our virtual classroom, with six hours of teaching.
What are the timings, including breaks?
09:00 to 17:00 UK time. There are breaks at 10:30 and 15:15, and an hour for lunch at 12:00. Six of the eight hours are teaching.
What platform does the live day run on?
Gather Town, a virtual venue that runs in your browser with nothing to install. You move a character around a drawn building with the arrow keys, and conversation starts when you walk up to someone. A short introduction video comes with your joining instructions.
Do I need a camera and microphone?
Yes, for the live course day — both need to be on throughout the sessions. The day is built around group work, discussion and giving feedback to each other, and it does not work with cameras off. Please only book a date you can attend properly.
NMERC is different: delegates there can keep camera and microphone off, and only presenters need them on.
When will I get my joining instructions?
By email around 72 hours before your live date. If you book inside that window they follow within one working day. They are sent to the address on your order, so use that address to enter the venue on the day.
Check your spam folder, and get in touch if nothing has arrived 48 hours before.
Do I have to attend the whole day?
Yes, and you need to complete the short feedback form at the start of the morning and the one at the end of the afternoon. Those two forms are also our attendance record, which is why we ask everyone to complete both. If something goes wrong on the day and you cannot complete one, tell us and we will sort it out.
Can I move to a different date?
Yes. Message us and we will normally move you to another published date free of charge, even at short notice. Strictly, a change made inside 72 hours of the date you are booked on can attract a booking fee, and a place is always subject to availability on the new date.
Your certificate
What it says, when it arrives, and how long it lasts.
What date does my certificate show?
By default it shows the date of the live course you attended. If you need it written differently, tell us before it is issued and we will look at what we can do.
How quickly will I get it after the live day?
Within 48 hours of the course, and usually sooner. It goes by email, once both feedback forms are in. If you have an application deadline, tell us the date and we will prioritise it.
Does the certificate expire?
No. There is no expiry date and no renewal fee, unlike ALS and similar courses. Some applications ask for teaching training completed within a certain window, but that is a rule set by the application, not a limit on the certificate.
I have lost my certificate. Can I get another copy?
Yes, and there is no charge. Get in touch with your name and roughly when you took the course, and we will send the PDF again.
My name is spelled wrong on it.
Tell us how you want it written and we will reissue it. There is no charge for that either.
Do the live day and the online modules have separate certificates?
Yes. They are two certificates covering two different courses, and you can use either or both. You do not need to finish the modules to get the live course certificate, and you do not need to attend the live day to get the online course certificate.
The live course certificate follows from attending the whole day and completing both feedback forms. The online course certificate is released once you have passed the in-module and end-of-module quizzes and the final test, and submitted your three assignments.
Online modules and assignments
Six weeks, twenty modules, three assignments.
How long do I have access, and what does an extension cost?
Six weeks from the time of purchase. A further six weeks costs £75 and can be bought on the site at any time. There is no limit on how many extensions you buy.
My access has already lapsed. Can it be reactivated?
Buying an extension reactivates the same account, but please email us if any extenuating circumstances apply and we will do our best to help.
How do I log in after I buy?
Access is instant. You get an email with your login for our learning platform at erudical.talentlms.com, and you can also reach it from My Account. If the link does not work or a password reset fails, tell us and we will fix it.
Do I need to complete the modules before the live day?
No. The live day and the self-paced modules are separate and each has its own certificate. You do not need to have started the modules to attend.
How long do assignments take to be marked?
Within a week, and never on the day you submit. Later modules unlock once the previous assignment has been marked. If you have an application deadline, tell us and we will prioritise your submissions.
What happens if an assignment is not passed?
You get written feedback explaining what was missing and you can submit again. There is no limit on resits and no charge for them.

The National Medical Education & Research Conference, included with your course.
Is my conference place really included?
Yes. A ticket is £149 on its own. The course is £199 and your place comes with it, so the two courses cost fifty pounds more than the conference by itself.
I took the course last year. Do I still get in free?
Yes, from any cohort. Alumni attend at no charge and are sent a one-time personal invite code. If yours has not arrived, tell us and we will resend it.
Do I have to attend in order to submit an abstract?
No. Submitting is free and the two decisions are separate. You can submit, see the outcome, and decide about attending afterwards. Submission is open to doctors in training — foundation doctors and core or specialty trainees — with no membership requirement.
How many points can a presentation be worth?
For IMT 2027 the presentations domain is worth up to 8 points, and the teaching course itself is worth 1, so up to 9 in total. What you score is set by the recruitment office, not by us, and an oral slot is competitive.
What happens if my abstract is turned down?
You get feedback on where it fell short, so you know whether the problem was the method, the write-up or the fit. Decisions come back within five days and are rolling rather than batched, so an abstract sent early leaves time to rework it and submit again before the deadline.
Payments, changes and refunds
In plain English. The Terms of Service are the full version.
What is the points guarantee?
If your teaching point is not accepted, you get every penny back. Claim within 60 days of receiving your application scoring outcome and we refund within 14 working days.
You need to have completed the course, received your certificate and submitted it as evidence on the application. Specialties whose person specification awards nothing for a teaching course are not covered.
Can I change my mind after buying?
No. Access to the course materials is instant, so the fourteen-day right to change your mind does not apply once the course has been made available to you. The points guarantee is separate and still stands.
If you cannot make your live date, ask us to move it rather than cancel. And if we cancel or move a date ourselves, you choose between a free transfer and a full refund, even if you have already used the online materials.
Are there discounts or group bookings?
There is a group rate: three people for £499. Get in touch before you enrol and we will set it up. We do not run other discounts or vouchers, because the course is already keenly priced.
Can I claim this on my study budget?
Yes. There is a template letter for your supervisor and an invoice you can submit. Erudical Limited is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged and none appears on the receipt.
