Clinical Radiology is one of the most competitive ST1 programmes in the UK, and the self-assessment is where many strong applicants quietly lose ground. Teaching and Training is a scored domain, and training in teaching methods is one way into it. This page explains how teaching points work for Clinical Radiology ST1 and how the Erudical course fits.

How Clinical Radiology ST1 scores teaching
The Clinical Radiology ST1 portfolio review scores teaching in Domain 3, Teaching and Training, graded A to E. Category C, worth 2 points, is “Evidence of other training in teaching methods after study of at least 2 days (such as Train the Trainers)”. Erudical claims Category C for the live teaching day (6 hours of live teaching) and the self-paced course (over 12 hours of content) together, evidenced by the combined course certificate. Either part on its own is not claimed, because the live day is a single day. The guidance gives no conversion from hours to days, so the assessor decides whether your evidence shows study of at least 2 days. There is no lower band for a shorter course: Category D, worth 1 point, is for evidence of regional teaching, so a course of less than 2 days scores nothing in this domain on its own. What to submit as evidence
Keep your certificate of completion, the completion date, the provider name and the CPD accreditation details. File these together with a one-line note of what you learned and how you have applied it. Both parts must be completed and certified before you submit your application.
The portfolio review asks for one piece of evidence per domain, uploaded as a single, continuous document. Live vs self-paced — which do radiology applicants need?
Radiology applicants need both. Category C is claimed only for the live day and the self-paced course together, under the combined course certificate; either part alone is not claimed. The self-paced course lets you fit the hours around on-call and reporting sessions, and the live day adds the interactive, tutor-led component.
